
While we are waiting for our 4G iPods to arrive we decided to dissect AirPort Express (AX), Apple's portable WiFi (802.11g) base station featuring AirTunes audio streaming and a print server. The Broadcom BCM4712KFB wireless network processor does most of the work; routing data, driving the radio and print serving.
Audio is passed to the Texas Instruments PCM2705 DAC which outputs analog and digital audio to the mini-stereo/optical jack.
